Research Interest
  1. Role of Tumour microenvironment on development of hepatitis virus (hepatitis B and hepatitis C virus) mediated hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Effect of host cell microRNAs on cross talk between different components of tumour microenvironment and development of HCC.
  2. Identification of Biomarkers for early detection of HCC in Indian patients. Three different approaches are taken  a) Transcriptome analysis  b) Proteome analysis with polysomal RNA and c) microRNA transcriptome analysis, by microarray and deep sequencing.
  3. Telomere biology in HCC development.
  4. Identification of susceptible allele of cytokine and chemokine genes to understand alcoholic liver diseases.
